Spay/Neuter Options
Oconee Regional Humane Society offers two spay/neuter options to support people facing financial challenges in the greater Lake Oconee region. ORHS offers these two programs to spay/neuter animals at little to no cost, making it affordable to keep your pets and the community safe from overcrowding.

Georgia Pet Foundation Program
$20 Spay/Neuter for Residents of Greene & Putnam Counties who face financial challenges.
This program provides owners of pets in Greene and Putnam counties the option to have their dog or cat spayed/neutered for only $20. The program is aimed at residents who, without this program, would otherwise not be able to afford to spay/neuter their pet. Animals are dropped off at the ORHS shelter, they are transported to a local vet to perform the procedure and then the pet is returned to owners later in the day. This spay/neuter program is offered through a grant provided by Georgia Pet Foundation. Residents who request Georgia license plates with the Georgia Pet Foundation logo help make programs like this possible. Please contact ORHS at 706-454-1508 if you are interested in having your pet spayed or neutered as part of this program.

Fix Georgia Pets Program
$20 or No Cost Spay/Neuter intended for pet owners who face financial challenges
This program provides the same low cost ($20) spay/neuter services for animals in Greene, Putnam and also nearby counties. It is aimed at residents who, without this program, would otherwise not be able to spay/neuter their pet. The program also provides NO COST spay/neuter services for “community” cats. These are cats that are not pets and either reside in the local community or are feral animals. ORHS can even make arrangements to provide traps to help capture cats. The money supporting these activities is provided to ORHS through a grant provided by Fix Georgia Pets, an organization whose mission is to focus on spay/neuter as a means to end overpopulation and senseless euthanasia of animals in Georgia. Please contact ORHS at 706-454-1508 for more information about this program.
