BankSouth/Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee is the proud sponsor of the first annual
Pirates of Oconee Poker Run to benefit the Oconee Regional Humane Society (ORHS).
On August 12, 2017, participants will venture by boat to several designated stops on
Lake Oconee. At each stop they will pick up a playing card in a sealed envelope until
they have completed all of the stops and have collected five cards.
At the afterparty, poker hands will be opened, evaluated and scored, and the best
poker hand will win the grand prize. Participants are strongly encouraged to get creative
and dress the part and decorate their boat in line with the pirate theme, with prizes
being given for the boat that best represents the theme. The event is expected to draw
scalliwags from outside the lake area as well as plenty of local pirates.
The entry fee is $150 and includes one boat entry into the poker run, two poker hands,
a captain’s bag o’ treasure and two invitations to the pirate after party. Additional crew
mates may be added for $75 each, up to two per boat. A mandatory safety meeting will
be held prior to the event. For safety reasons, personal watercraft, houseboats or any
kind of unmotorized watercraft are not allowed.
Entries are limited and prices increase closer to the event, so sign up early. To register for the 2017 Pirates of Oconee Poker Run, click here or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
